Gingerbread

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 cup boiling water

Recipe

  • 1 mix ingredients in order listed, dissolving soda in boiling water.
  • 2 bake in an 9 x 13 glass pan, which has been greased and floured at 350° for 40 minutes.
