Glazed Lemon Bread

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh lemon rind
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar

Recipe

  • 1 cream butter and sugar, then beat in eggs, lemon juice and lemon rind.
  • 2 combine flour, baking powder and salt and stir into creamed mixture alternately with milk.
  • 3 pour into greased 8"x4" loaf pan.
  • 4 bake at 350° for 45 minutes or until done.
  • 5 combine glaze ingredients.
  • 6 remove bread from pan and immediately drizzle with glaze, then cool on a wire rack.
