Custard Filled Cornbread

Ingredients

  • Servings: 9
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup heavy cream or 1 cup whipping cream

Recipe

  • 1 butter an 8-inch baking dish and place it in the oven.
  • 2 preheat oven to 350 degrees f and let the dish get hot while mixing the batter.
  • 3 beat the eggs with butter until well blended.
  • 4 add sugar, salt, milk, and vinegar, beat well.
  • 5 in another bowl, sift together the flour, cornmeal, baking powder, and baking soda.
