Pumpkin Bread

Total Time: 1 hr 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1 (16 ounce) can pumpkin puree
  • 3 1/2 cups flour, sifted
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon allspice
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2/3 cup water

Recipe

  • 1 cream together sugar and oil.
  • 2 add eggs and pumpkin; mix well.
  • 3 sift together flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon and cloves.
  • 4 add to pumpkin mixture alternately with water.
  • 5 mix well after each addition.
  • 6 pour into well greased and floured 9 x 5-inch loaf pans.
  • 7 bake at 350 °f for 1 ½ hours, until loaves test done.
  • 8 let stand for 10 minutes.
  • 9 remove from pans to cool.
