Nonna's Broccoli Rabe

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 lbs broccoli rabe, cut into 1 inch peices
  • 1 1/2 cups pecorino romano cheese
  • 1/2 cup dried breadcrumbs
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 375 f.
  • 2 heat oil in ovenproof pot over low heat.
  • 3 add broccoli rabe and raise the heat to medium.
  • 4 cook, stirring occasionaly, until broccoli rabe begins to wilt, 10 to 12 minutes.
  • 5 add cheese, bread crumbs and allspice.
  • 6 season with salt and pepper and stir well to combine.
  • 7 transfer pot to oven and bake until tender, 8 to 10 minutes.
  • 8 remove from oven and serve immediately.
