Raised Polish Doughnuts Paczki

Total Time: 4 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 4 hrs Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 50
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 (4 ounce) package yeast
  • 1/4 cup warm water
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 lb powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 dissolve yeast in warm water
  • 2 scald milk
  • 3 add sugar and butter
  • 4 cool to lukewarm add yeast mixture and 2 cups flour.
  • 5 let rise until light
  • 6 beat egg yols and egg together
  • 7 add eggs and vanilla to 1st mixture.
  • 8 add rest of flour and salt
  • 9 knead lightly and let rise
  • 10 roll dough 1/2 inch thick
  • 11 cut out doughnuts
  • 12 let rise untl light
  • 13 fry in deep fat
  • 14 glaze doughtnuts while still warm.
  • 15 glaze
  • 16 combine all ingredients add enough water to make mixture a medium cosistancy.
