Gingerbread

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons ginger
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon clove
  • 1 cup boiling water

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 beat butter with sugar and molasses.
  • 3 mix in egg.
  • 4 sift dry ingredients and add to wet mixture, alternately with water, until just combined.
  • 5 bake in greased 9 inch square pan 40 minutes.
