Raisin Biscuits

Ingredients

- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/3 cup shortening or 1/3 cup lard
- 1 1/2 cups raisins or 1 1/2 cups sultanas
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 450f and lightly grease a baking pan.
- 2 sift dry ingredients together.
- 3 cut shortening into flour mixture.
- 4 beat eggs and add to milk; stir into flour mixture.
- 5 add raisins.
- 6 turn onto a well-floured board and knead lightly until smooth, using more flour if necessary.
- 7 gently pat out 1/2" thick.
- 8 cut with small biscuit cutter and bake for 15 minutes or until golden.
- 9 serve hot.
