Pogaca (farmers Bread)

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup fat
  • 2 lbs plain flour
  • salt
  • 2/3 cup fresh yeast cake
  • 1 1/3 cups water

Recipe

  • 1 rub fat in 1-1/2 pounds flour; add salt and yeast previously dissolved in a little lukewarm water and mix.
  • 2 knead well, occasionally sprinkling the dough with the remaining flour.
  • 3 dough must be neither stiff nor soft.
  • 4 roll the dough out into the size and shape of a round baking dish.
