Maple Pecan Cornbread

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons butter, room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 combine flour, cornmeal, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  • 3 in another bowl combine butter, sugar and eggs; mix well.
  • 4 add maple syrup and buttermilk.
  • 5 stir in dry ingredients just until moistened.
  • 6 stir in pecans.
  • 7 pour into greased 8x4 inch loaf pan.
  • 8 bake 35-40 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • 9 cool for 10 minutes in pan and serve with maple syrup if desired.
