Quick Cheese And Pepper Bread

Total Time: 55 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups bread flour (i like king arthur)
  • 4 ounces shredded sharp cheddar cheese or 4 ounces cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh coarse ground black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/3 cup margarine or 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 2 eggs

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 grease button only of 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • 3 lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off.
  • 4 in medium bowl, combine flour, cheese, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt and pepper; mix well.
  • 5 in small bowl, combine buttermilk, margarine and eggs; blend well.
  • 6 add to dry ingredients stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  • 7 pour into greased pan.
  • 8 bake at 350°f for 35 to 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • 9 cool in pan 15 minutes; remove.
  • 10 cool completely on wire rack.
  • 11 wrap; store in refrigerator.
