Raisin Brown Bread

Total Time: 1 hr 5 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 1/2 cups sour milk
  • 1 cup molasses

Recipe

  • 1 blend together flour, baking soda and salt.
  • 2 blend in whole wheat flour and raisins.
  • 3 make a well in centre of dry ingredients.
  • 4 add milk and molasses.
  • 5 divide batter among 4 greased 20oz cans.
  • 6 cover each with aluminum foil and tie in place.
  • 7 steam for 1 hour.
  • 8 serve warm or cold.
