Pain Perdu

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/3 cup marmalade
  • 1/3 cup orange juice concentrate
  • 1/2 ounce brandy
  • 1 loaf french bread (10-12 inches)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup orange juice concentrate

Recipe

  • 1 mix eggs, milk, sugar, marmalade, orange juice concentrate and brandy in a large bowl with an electric mixer cut bread into 1" thick slices and dip into the custard mixture.
  • 2 place the pieces in a flat pan 1.
  • 3 5-2" deep.
  • 4 pour remaining custard mixture over the top.
  • 5 cover with foil and refrigerate overnight, turning bread once.
  • 6 spray electric skillet with non-stick cooking spray.
  • 7 heat to 225-275f and cook bread for 30 minutes on each side.
  • 8 serve with orange cream.
  • 9 orange cream.
  • 10 beat ingredients together until thick.
