Macaroni And Cheese

Ingredients
- 2 cups uncooked macaroni
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3 tablespoons flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper (i often use pepper)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion (or more)
- 1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
- 3 cups milk
- 3 cups sharp cheddar cheese
Recipe
- 1 cook macaroni per package directions and drain. set aside.
- 2 melt butter. add flour, salt, mustard, and pepper. cook, stirring constantly for 2 minutes. do not brown.
- 3 add milk, onion and worcestershire sauce. cook until thickened and smooth (depending on how fine your onions are chopped will determine the smoothness).
- 4 stir in cheese continuing to stir until melted and creamy.
- 5 combine cheese sauce and macaroni. pour into a 2.5 quart prepared casserole.
- 6 you can top with additonal cheese or bread crumbs, if desired. bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until hot through.
