Macadamia French Toast

Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 2/3 cup orange juice
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 ounces loaf italian bread, cut in 1 inch slices
- 1/3 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup macadamia nuts, chopped
Recipe
- 1 whisk eggs, juice, milk, sugar, nutmeg and vanilla together until well blended. place bread in a single layer in a tight fitting casserole. pour the milk mixture over the bread. cover and refrigerate overnight, turning the bread once.
- 2 preheat the oven to 400°f
- 3 pour the melted butter on a jelly roll pan and arrange the soaked bread slices in a single layer on the pan. sprinkle with the macadamia nuts and bake until golden for 20-25 minutes. serve with warm maple syrup and butter.
- 4 preparation time does not include overnight fridge time.
