Red, Yellow And Black Chili

Ingredients

- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper (hot)
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 (28 ounce) can vegetarian baked beans
- 1 (14 ounce) can black beans, drained
- 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- 1 medium yellow bell pepper
- 1 tablespoon cumin powder (not cumin seeds!)
- 2 teaspoons morton lite salt
- 1/2 ounce taco seasoning
- 1 medium green chili pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 lb ground beef, browned, optional or 1 cup textured soy protein granules
Recipe
- 1 in large pot, on medium heat, add oil.
- 2 crush garlic cloves and add to oil, add chli powder and let sizzle few seconds.
- 3 chop yellow pepper roughly and add to oil.
- 4 add tomatoes, and cumin, cook few minutes.
- 5 add baked beans, and black beans, salt, taco seasoning, and beef or soy granules if using.
- 6 slit green chili pepper and add (if you want it less spicy, de-seed the pepper first).
- 7 let simmer 15-30 minutes,to desired consistancy.
- 8 enjoy alone or with torn pieces of good thick bread.
