Raisin Bread

Total Time: 2 hrs 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients

  • 2 cups raisins
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 mix the raisins, baking soda, and the boiling water.
  • 2 cover, and let stand until cooled, about 1 hour.
  • 3 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 4 lightly grease two 4x8 inch loaf pans.
  • 5 in a medium bowl, mix the raisin mixture with the oil, flour, sugars, and salt, and mix well.
  • 6 pour mixture evenly into the 2 prepared pans, and bake until browned, approximately 1 hour.
