Eggnog French Toast

Ingredients

- 1 1/2 cups commercial refrigerated eggnog
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 8 slices french bread, 1-inch thick
- 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
- 1 cup pure maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
- 2 tablespoons light rum
Recipe
- 1 combine eggnog and nutmeg in a shallow dish.
- 2 place bread slices in dish, turning to coat.
- 3 melt butter in a large skillet.
- 4 remove bread slices from eggnog mixture, allowing excess to drain.
- 5 cook in skillet 3 minutes on each side or until golden.
- 6 serve immediately with rum sauce.
- 7 rum sauce: combine ingredients in a saucepan; cook over low heat until heated, stirring often.
