Eggnog French Toast

Total Time: 16 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 6 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 1/2 cups commercial refrigerated eggnog
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 8 slices french bread, 1-inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons butter or 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 tablespoons light rum

Recipe

  • 1 combine eggnog and nutmeg in a shallow dish.
  • 2 place bread slices in dish, turning to coat.
  • 3 melt butter in a large skillet.
  • 4 remove bread slices from eggnog mixture, allowing excess to drain.
  • 5 cook in skillet 3 minutes on each side or until golden.
  • 6 serve immediately with rum sauce.
  • 7 rum sauce: combine ingredients in a saucepan; cook over low heat until heated, stirring often.
