Persian Kidney Beans

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 cups cooked kidney beans
  • 1 onion
  • 1 garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 dash cinnamon
  • 1 lime, juice of
  • 3 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 small chili pepper
  • salt
  • pepper

Recipe

  • 1 saute the chopped onion in oil. add the garlic, cumin and cinnamon.
  • 2 add the lime juice, then the tomato paste and the water.
  • 3 simmer for 5 minutes.
  • 4 add the beans and the chili pepper and simmer for another10 minutes.
  • 5 it's done when it's quite dry,.
  • 6 serve stuffed into pita bread.
