Hefezopf Friedas Bread

Total Time: 2 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 2 hrs Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 150 g butter or 2/3 cup butter
  • 500 ml milk, scalded or 2 2/3 cups milk
  • 100 g sugar or 2/3 cup sugar
  • 42 g yeast or 2 (21 g) packages yeast
  • 1 lemon, juice of
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 kg bread flour or 7 cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar crystals
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds

Recipe

  • 1 add butter to scalded milk; add sugar; add yeast; beat together.
  • 2 add juice of lemon and eggs; beat again.
  • 3 add bread flour and salt; knead until smooth.
  • 4 put in buttered bowl; cover with damp cloth; let rise until double; punch down.
