Oatmeal Beer Bread

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 12 ounces room temperature beer
  • 1/2 cup melted butter (for top)

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 grease a 5x9 loaf pan.
  • 3 combine oats, flour, salt, sugar, baking powder, water and beer and put into the prepared loaf pan.
  • 4 bake for 30 minutes. generously brush top of loaf with melted butter, reserving some for a second brushing.
  • 5 return to oven and bake for 30-40 minutes more until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. remove from the oven and brush with reserved butter.
  • 6 serve warm.
