Ham And Cheese Puff

Ingredients

  • Servings: 24
  • 2 lbs italian bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 6 cups ham, fully cooked and cubed
  • 1 1/2 lbs muenster cheese or 1 1/2 lbs monterey jack cheese, cubed
  • 1 medium onion, minced
  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
  • 16 eggs
  • 7 cups skim milk
  • 1/3 cup prepared mustard

Recipe

  • 1 toss bread, ham, and cheese; divide between two greased 13-in x 9-in baking dishes.
  • 2 in a skillet, saute onion in butter until tender; transfer to a bowl.
  • 3 add eggs, milk, and mustard; mix well.
  • 4 pour over bread mixture.
  • 5 cover and refrigerate overnight.
  • 6 remove from the fridge 30 minutes before baking.
  • 7 bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 55-65 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
  • 8 serve immediately.
