- 1 large head of garlic
- 10 slices bread
- 1 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons water

- 1 peel and crush the garlic, the entire head.
- 2 remove the crusts from the bread, and place the crustless bread in a mixing bowl.
- 3 add the garlic along with the olive oil and vinegar.
- 4 let this soften for 1 hour.
- 5 beat with an electric mixer until all is smooth.
- 6 don't do this with a food processor as it will be too smooth.
- 7 add lemon juice, slowly add water while the mixer is running so you will have a thick and fluffy sauce.

- 1 cup yellow cornmeal
- 1 teaspoon salt

- 1 preheat oven to 375 degrees. lightly butter a 6-cup soufflé dish or casserole; set aside.
- 2 place 2 cups water in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. bring to a boil.
- 3 slowly add cornmeal, stirring constantly until thick and smooth. remove from heat.
- 4 add butter and salt, and let stand until lukewarm.
- 5 add eggs and milk. beat for 2 minutes, then pour into prepared baking dish.

- 1 beat the eggs and milk in a bowl and add black pepper.
- 2 heat olive oil spread in a frying pan and add egg mixture.
- 3 sir constantly until egg is set but still soft.
- 4 remove pan from heat and stir in cream cheese, herbs and pepper.
- 5 serve on the toasted bread.

- 2 -3 lbs boiled ham
- 6 loaves miniature party rye rounds (ex. pepperridge farm)

- 1 condiments such as dijon mustard and mayonnaise may be served, but are not necessary.
- 2 place pieces of bread on counter and cover each slice first with ham and then with cheese making sure to cover all of bread liberally.
- 3 bake in 375°f oven until cheese has thoroughly melted.
- 4 it's best to make ahead of time if you want to enjoy the party!

- 1 tablespoon olive oil, plus extra for drizzling
- 1/2 onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika, plus a little extra
- 1 small sweet potato, peeled and diced
- 5 ounces red lentils
- 3 fresh thyme sprigs, leaves chopped, plus a little extra to decorate (optional)
- 2 cups low sodium vegetable broth
- 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
- pita bread and vegetable stick, to serve
Recipe
- 1 heat the oil in a large pan, add the onion and cook slowly until soft and golden. tip in the paprika and cook for a further 2 mins, then add the sweet potato, lentils, thyme and stock. bring to a simmer, then cook for 20 mins or until the potato and lentils are tender.
- 2 add the vinegar and some seasoning, and roughly mash the mixture until you get a texture you like. chill for 1 hr, then drizzle with olive oil, dust with the extra paprika and sprinkle with thyme sprigs, if you like. serve with pitta bread and vegetable sticks.
